Decatur – Michael M. Myers, 70, of Decatur, IL passed away at 4:04 P.M. in his residence on September 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion, IL with Pastor B. G. Nevitt officiating. Burial will be in Florey Cemetery, Long Creek, IL with full military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Michael was born on February 25, 1940 in Decatur, IL, the son of Hugh Elbert and Myrna Caldwell (DeBaun) Myers. He worked as a Senior Chemist for Mueller Company. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Castle Williams Post #105. He was a member of the American Pit Bull Terriers Club. He married Carol (Nichols) Ishee on October 8, 1983.
Surviving is his wife, Carol of Decatur, IL; daughters: Michelle McDaniel and her companion Patrick of Jacksonville, FL and Lindsay Myers of Decatur; sons: John Myers of Ft. Myers, FL and Todd Ishee of Pass Christian, Mississippi; grandchildren: Kenneth McDaniel, Jack McGowan, William Arthur Myers and Josie Ishee; sister: Nancy Carrig of Denmark.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hugh “Bud” Myers.
